“It is only in sorrow bad weather masters us; in joy we face the storm and defy it.”
- Amelia Barr

Boredom, in a Wintertime Apocalypse
I know many of you may be incredibly bored during your time off. And who could blame you? We go to school for 2 days and are immediately given a glorious 4 day weekend. The time in school was so limited that we hardly had anything that we had to do for school. So what to do with your time? Now you could go outside, and that could be enjoyable to some people, but what should you do otherwise? Well, you have probably already figured it out, talk to your friends, play online games with your friends, play solo games, and play online games without your friends. Do whatever. Do nothing, if you want to remain bored, or have fun if you do not. Your parents are probably working as adults do, but you have the freedom to do whatever to achieve not being bored. How do you like spending time during this wintertime apocalypse?
Snow, Snow, Oh No
Weather is the mysterious force created by our atmosphere, cosmic circumstances, and various currents in the earth, sea, and air. This phenomenon has been a part of our history since well before history and yet is seemingly both incredibly mundane and yet incredibly important. Its importance can only really be felt in its effects as if it has been the past two days, and the snow on the roads and other parts of the ground has stopped school. Something so innocent and nice looking shut down school. It is interesting to ponder such feats. Freezing temperatures create the perfect mix of water and a bit of dust, and create large swaths of powdery frozen water. Now we may think that snow is so kind and inviting, but before modern clothing was built for the cold, snow was dangerous. Its mythological spirits and gods were as menacing as they were benevolent. Even now over 1000 people die due to snow-related car accidents in the U.S. alone, and 100 times that are injured yearly. This does not even mention the amount of people who suffer from the traditional death by snow, freezing to death. Water brings life, but get it cold, or simply too much of it, and water takes it away.

It seems to be expected now to see snow after December. Well, that is what has happened for I believe; four years now. How strange huh? By luck it seems always to snow- and it’s slowly getting closer and closer to December every year.
I believe it snowed in February the first and second years. Last year, it snowed in January near the 20th, and this year, it’s on the 9th and 10th. It seems to be slowly advancing closer to December, concluding that next year, it will possibly snow on the 6th or earlier in January. But who knows? Texas is a really scuffed state in the US, hehe.
Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying the Texas snow, especially this type which is perfect for building things like snowmen (So if you haven’t built one, go be your inner Anna from Frozen). Have a fun extended weekend with these two extra days, bye bye :D
